Overview
The MPC8347E Processor Card
(MPC8347EPC) serves as a development platform with processor element and minimum
system requirements. The MPC8347EPC is designed to work with a carrier board.
With external debugger connected, developer is able to incorporate their desired
systems with the PowerQUICC II™ Pro
processors.
The MPC8347E PowerQUICC II™ Pro family of integrated communications processors is a next-generation extension of the popular PowerQUICC II line. Based on a system-on-chip (SoC) architecture, the MPC8347E PowerQUICC II Pro Family integrates the enhanced e300 core and advanced features, such as DDR memory, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, Dual PCI and Hi-Speed USB controllers. With clock speeds scaling to 667 MHz, the MPC8349E family of processors offers the highest performing PowerQUICC II devices available.
Applications
The MPC8347E
PowerQUICC II Pro Family is designed to provide a cost-effective, highly
integrated control processing solution that addresses the emerging needs of
networking, communications and pervasive computing applications. MPC8347E
processors can be used in applications such as Ethernet routers and switches,
wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment, network storage, home network appliances,
industrial control equipment, and copiers, printers and other imaging systems.

· MPC8347/E running at 400MHz
· Support 32-bit PCI interface up to 66 Mhz
· DDR266 SDRAM supported by discrete DDR SDRAM with optional
ECC feature
· Up to 16 MBytes flash memory at 16-bit port size in two
banks
· One 10/100/1000 BaseT copper interface using TSEC1 GMII
mode.
· Two USB 2.0 ports using ULPI interface. One of the port
support OTG.
· One RS-232 Serial Port
· COP interface
· Other interfaces supported by board-to-board connectors:
— TSEC2
GMII, RGMII, TBI, RTBI interfaces supported by board-to-board connector, which
can be used as 10/100/1000 BaseT copper interface on a carrier board.
— 32-bit
Local Bus interface with four chip-selects and 24-bit address
· 3.3V and 5V power supplied from a carrier board
